Where others saw mangrove forests, swamps and farm land, John D MacArthur envisioned a sprawling village, well-planned, designed articulately, and basking under the tropical sun. After purchasing 2600 acres of land in 1954 from its former owners, he began developing what is now the North Palm Beach. Historically speaking, the village is fairly new, being incorporated only in 1956. Full-scale development commenced at a rapid rate, wherein most of the undeveloped wilderness gave way to beautiful waterfront cul-de-sacs, and a new east-west artery.

The village grew after its incorporation and today it calls itself ‘The Best Place to Live under the Sun’ – a phrase that holds every ounce of truth.
